How to Plug into Ethernet
Ethernet is a wired way to connect a laptop to the internet in your dorm or office. A wired connection can often be more stable and faster than wireless. Some laptops will have an ethernet port while others may require an ethernet to USB-c adapter. Ethernet inputs are larger than land-line telephone inputs but they look similar. Note that not every port in every room is active and you may need to try more than one port. Rooms with access points plugged into the port can accept a ethernet cable in the access point. Otherwise you should be able to plug the ethernet directly into the port in the wall. While we cannot allow wireless routers, you can purchase a mini-switch from the bookstore that will let multiple people plug into the same ethernet port.
